Junko Miura teaches Ikebana, European and East-West Fusion floral arrangement.
Junko Miura's award-winning Ikebana creations make her one of New York's most acclaimed Ikebana artists and sought-after floral designers. A second-generation master in Ikenobo - Seigatsuha, the school honored Miura's artistry in 1972 by awarding her the exclusive honorific title, Shojun.
She teaches classes at her Soho studio, and from time to time gives classes at the New York Botanical Garden and the New York Flower School by Michael George. Over the past seven years, her students have won awards at New York's International Orchid Show for Best Ikebana, Best Artistic and Best Display.

Lessons explore a main style of Ikebana know as Moribana. The literal meaning of this word is "piled-up flowers" the vase is always wide and shallow holding a harmonious combination of branches and flowers. This course teaches the foundation for the simplicity and beauty of Ikebana. Length of course 5 sessions - 2 hours ea.
Basics of Ikebana - Negeire Style
Negeire Ikebana creations are characterized for their simplicity. The vase is tall and narrow mouthed. Inventive simple devices are made from the flowers themselves to give form and grace to the arrangement. You will find Negeire techniques your most useful tip in any flower arranging.

Center Pieces & Table Arrangements Ikebana Style
